Wurstfest. Ever.

This past weekend the dogs and I met up with the Gateway Lo-Downs and headed out to Hermann, MO for the annual Wurstfest. They do sausage making, wine tasting, and all that, but we go for the wiener dog derby. Franklin and Rita Bean had a blast, and they are *still* exhausted from all the activity. Franklin participated in the derby, but pulled a total Franklin and got confused about what he was supposed to be doing.

The Lo-Downs as a whole did great! We had several dogs win races (although nobody made it past the finals), Bitsy got second place in the talent contest, and Rufus defended his title as Longest Dachshund.

And then there was Dylan. Sigh.

Weiner Wrap

My boy dog, Franklin, has a real problem containing his liquid excitement. I was sick of apologizing to all my friends when he peed on their hands, couches, carpet, doormats, etc. I sewed together a little belly band for Franklin when were getting ready to go someplace new. It worked great at catching the little squirts, not so good at absorbing an entire housetraining error. The weiner wrap is made from scrap fleece and flannel, with a moisture barrier nylon piece in the middle. Franklin doesn't exactly like it, but he hasn't tried to take it off, so we're ok.

Dog-Tography

While I haven't been crafting much, I did do some cool photos of Katie the Bull Terrier last weekend. You can check out all my proofs at my Franklin Photography Instaproofs Site.

*Inspiration**

I haven't been doing much crafting, but I thought I'd quickly post some of the quilts I saw last weekend at the Thimble & Thread Guild Show.

Total inspirations...truly. The excellent quilts were numerous, but I was also surprised to see many beginner quilts, and even some that were put together as baby blankets in the 70s that were truly dated.
